Zambian Governance Foundation for Civil Society (ZGF)

ZGF strengthens accountable and inclusive development in Zambia by equipping civil society organisations and community groups with resources, knowledge and support to engage effectively in policy processes. Over the years, it has built a resilient ecosystem of partners through grant‑making, organisational development and learning platforms. In 2017, ZGF expanded its work to include community philanthropy, recognising the importance of locally driven development and community ownership. This shift transformed ZGF from a civil society support organisation into one that also works directly with communities to strengthen local assets, leadership and collective action. Today, its work is anchored in three pillars—supporting civil society, strengthening communities and building philanthropy.
